If you’re interested in something more than just a short rejuvenating holiday, you may consider attending the yoga teacher training course (YTTC), which is a unique training program that imparts rudimentary knowledge of yoga to interested seekers of yogic knowledge and practice. It is a full-time regular residential course for interested yoga teachers extended over a period of four weeks. After successfully completing this course, the trainees can become certified teachers and conduct their own yoga classes.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

YOGA PHILOSOPHY SESSIONS

  • This section focus on Introductions of yoga and discussion on Patanjali Yog Sutra.
  • Ashtanga yoga philosophy (eight limbs of yoga according to Patanjali Yoga Sutra), autobiography of a contemporary yogi, principles of the five basic elements and ten senses, Triguna (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas), basics of Ayurveda and Tridosha, and yogic anatomy: nadi and chakras.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

This session includes basics of human anatomy and physiology.The module will focus on the main system of the human body like digestive system, respiratory system, muscular system, skeletal system, circulatory system, endocrine system and nervous system.

This section comprises various asana postures from basics to advance level.

MANTRA PRACTICE AND YAGYA

In this section you will learn to chant different kinds of yogic mantra (i.e gayatri mantra ,mantra for peace, mantra for righteous path etc.).

RULES AND REGULATION OF ASHRAM (DSVV)

Maintaining a positive spiritual atmosphere at the retreats and training programs requires the active participation and consideration by all visiting guests. In this regard, Shriram Yog Prashikshan & Anusandhan Society requests your cooperation in observing the following rules and guidelines whilst your presence and stay on DSVV campus and Shantikunj premises.

  • To obtain maximum benefit and maintain the spiritual purpose, all guests are requested to follow the entire daily schedule of the program they are enrolled in.
  • Use of mobile / cell phone is not permitted while the sessions / classes are taking place.
  • Guests’ behavior and dress code should be respectful of Indian culture and compliment the spiritual atmosphere of the campus. Observance of the campus dress code should be maintained at all times including during yoga asana classes and yagya.
  • Guests are requested to observe silence and avoid movement during ‘Naad yoga’ meditation between 16:00 to 18:15 daily on campus.
  • Consumption of alcohol, drugs, non-vegetarian food like meat, fish, eggs, garlic, onion, etc are strictly banned during the course duration. Smoking is also strictly prohibited.
  • To respect the local culture and the ascetic tradition, kindly restrain from expressions of affection such as hugging or kissing in public.
  • Kindly do not go to / near the river Ganges by yourself as it can be dangerous due to the turbulent flow of water in this region.
  • Guests are requested to take care of their personal belongings at all times. The University or Shantikunj cannot be held responsible in case of any mishap such as loss/theft/misplacement of guest’s personal belongings.
  • Seek help from volunteers / organizing committee members in case of any doubts about navigating across the campus, food and water facilities, etc.
  • Kindly avoid loitering around the campus after 22:00.
  • Participants residing in the Shantikunj and DSVV Campus must notify the authorized person while leaving the premises at all times.

Registration /Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 45 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
